Maija Max which means "Mad Artist from Jamaica" was born in Kingston Jamaica and raised by his late, great aunt, AUNT GWEN. He started singing at age five in this Sunday school choir and by age 13 at sessions around his block and hasn't stopped since. Many have compared his style to that of Sean Paul and Shaggy but with an edgier flow. His soul thrilling voice began shining in 1989 when he first hit the music scene in Rochester, NY where he quickly joined forces with close friend Daddy Phil to host "In A Dancehall Style" on local FM radio station W.I.T.R 89.7. Maija Max has opened and performed with Busta Ryhmes, Biz Markie, Bushwick Bill, 2000.10 Crew, Spragga Benz, Mr Vegas, Lady Saw, E Z Mobee, Cocoa T, Louie Culture, Mr Notch, Mobb Deep and many more. He has blessed the mic and mash up nuff shows including the Black College Conferences in Connecticut, Buffalo State Collge, SUNY Brockport, RIT, University of Rochester, Senegal Night Club in Brooklyn, NY, Club 321 in Melbourne, Florida, The invasion of the Element Night Club in Orlando and various other venues. Maija Max is not just a trendsetter, but a studious educator who delivers his flava in a kewl, fun yet professional manner.
